The listed pharma disclosed the development in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday. “The agreement, expanded from the existing twice-yearly lenacapavir for HIV prevention access strategy, covers 120 high-incidence countries (which are primarily low- and lower- middle-income) and will support manufacturing readiness, technology transfer and future supply planning while the Phase 3 PURPOSE 365 trial is ongoing,” read the notice. If approved, once yearly lenacapavir could provide a full year of HIV prevention with a single dose, expanding prevention choice and helping address barriers that can limit pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) uptake and persistence, said FEROZ. BEIJING: China’s coal production fell 7.7% from a year earlier in August, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday, extending a decline that has followed heightened safety scrutiny after two deadly mining accidents this year. China produced 361.82 million metric tons of coal in August, the data showed. That was up from 343.21 million tons in July. Output over the first eight months of the year was 3.06 billion tons, down 3.3% compared with the same period of last year. Safety concerns remained elevated after a gas explosion at a coal mine in Lianyuan, in Hunan province, on August 14 killed seven people and injured one, according to state media. Pakistan on Wednesday summoned the Charge d’Affaires of the Indian High Commission and lodged a “strong protest” over a “highly provocative and unacceptable” action by an Indian Navy vessel in Pakistan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on Sept 15, the Foreign Office (FO) said. According to the FO, the incident occurred while the Pakistan Navy was conducting its biennial exercise, SEASPARK-26. The FO said that the Indian vessel carried out “aggressive manoeuvres” in dangerously close proximity to a Pakistani naval ship, resulting in contact between the two vessels. The ministry termed the incident a “serious violation of international law” as well as the 1991 bilateral agreement on Advance Notice on Military Exercises, Manoeuvres and Troop Movements. It said the incident also risked escalating tensions in the region. The Indian diplomat was asked to convey to New Delhi that Pakistan “strongly rejects” the “belligerent Indian action” and urged India to strictly adhere to international law and bilateral agreements, particularly those intended to prevent incidents at sea. The PTA’s recent order comes more than three years after the initial notice was issued to Ufone’s management. Ufone subsequently approached the courts and, after winning the legal battle, the telecom regulator issued the order on September 11, 2026. PTML, the parent company of Ufone, has recently completed its merger with Telenor Pakistan. The company is a subsidiary of state-owned Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).
